Update

The initial ballot submission deadline for voting on the proposal to amend the Master Declaration to impose annual assessments (quarterly dues) on vacant platted residential lots, as well as on lots with homes already built on them, was June 1, 2022.

At the June 9, 2022 meeting of the SBCA Board of Directors, General Manager Mark Torres reported that as of the initial June 1 deadline only 393 ballots had been received. That number is less than the 450 votes needed to approve the proposal.

Accordingly, as authorized by RCW 64.38.120(6) in order to give all members who have not yet voted a further opportunity to cast their ballots, at the June 9 meeting the Board voted to extend the ballot submission deadline to August 10, 2022.

The Board urges all members who have not yet submitted their ballots to do so promptly. Anyone who has lost or misplaced their ballot can pick up a new one at the Bay Club front desk, or can get one by calling the front desk at 360|||437|||2208 or by emailing a request for a new ballot to gm|||sbca|||club|||Amendment.

The Board continues to recommend a YES vote on the proposal, since owners of vacant lots have the same right to use the Bay Club and other SBCA amenities as owners of built lots, owners of vacant lots have the same right to vote on SBCA matters as owners of built lots, and owners of vacant lots enjoy the same increased property values as owners of built lots due to the existence of the Bay Club and other SBCA amenities.
