Free Presentation, November 25, 1pm at the Bay Club. Public Welcome!
History of Sx”ck”iyan, a 660+ year old S’Kallam village from which Sequim derives its name. This presentation examines ethnographic accounts, archeological discoveries, archival documents and other materials to understand the pre- and post-contact history of the S’Klallam ancestors who lived at this site for centuries.
Our speaker for this program is a gifted presenter. Mr. David Brownell is the Executive Director of the North Olympic History Center in Port Angeles. Prior to taking that position, Mr. Brownell worked for the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe as a cultural resources specialist and later as a designated Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Historic Preservation Officer. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from Hanover College, and a master’s in public history from Wright State University.
Please join us at the Bay Club on November 25 at 1:00pm to hear this interesting and informative presentation. This program is sponsored by the Activities Committee of the SBCA so there is no charge to attend. This Program is open to all Port Ludlow Residents
